Ukraine’s drone forces commander reports rise in Russian casualties

In brief

Robert Brovdi reported 2,699 Russian casualties from his units’ operations on October 1–5, up 39.7% from the same five days in September.

Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi said his units inflicted 2,699 Russian personnel casualties on October 1–5, according to ZN.UA. He said the figures were confirmed in the Delta system and combined irrecoverable losses and medical casualties; the total should not be read as a death toll.

Brovdi compared that figure with 1,931 casualties during September 1–5 and 1,529 during August 1–5, reporting increases of 39.7% and 76.5%, respectively. The comparisons cover matching five-day periods, rather than full months.

For the Dobropillia–Pokrovsk sector, he reported 1,268 casualties, compared with 884 in the September period and 664 in August. He said all the figures covered only his forces’ units and excluded operations by other branches of Ukraine’s defence forces.

Brovdi also said Russian forces had increased the density and frequency of attacks in early October, which he linked to a new wave of covert mobilisation in Russia. ZN.UA’s report did not offer separate evidence confirming that assessment.
