In brief
Prosecutors said they could not identify those personally responsible. Polish SIM cards were found in some downed drones.
Prosecutors in Lublin have closed an investigation into the September 2025 drone incursion into Polish airspace because they could not identify those responsible, Novynarnia reported on October 8, citing a Polish media report relayed by Hromadske.
More than 30 Russian drones entered Polish airspace overnight on September 10, 2025, according to Novynarnia. Military prosecutors spent more than a year investigating who was personally responsible. Most case materials remain classified, prosecution spokesman Marcin Kozak said.
Investigators found Polish SIM cards in some downed drones. Prosecutors did not disclose whether the cards had been stolen or obtained illegally; Novynarnia's report did not specify who bought or used them.
Prosecutors also examined the Polish military's response and concluded that its use of weapons complied with applicable procedures, with no violations found.
