UAnimals founder Todorchuk says he now leads Ukrainian military communications

In brief

The serviceman said he had joined the General Staff team and planned to strengthen work with military units, partners and the media.

Oleksandr Todorchuk, a Ukrainian serviceman and founder of animal rescue organisation UAnimals, said he had taken charge of the armed forces’ Main Communications Directorate. Novynarnia reported his Facebook announcement on October 24; its report did not specify the appointment date.

Todorchuk said he was getting to know the team and its work. He asked people who had dealt with the directorate to share their experiences to help identify practices to retain or change, and pledged particular attention to relations with military units, partners and the media.

According to Novynarnia, Todorchuk previously worked in strategic communications at Ukraine’s Defence Ministry. He also co-founded the communications agency Gres Todorchuk and mobilised into the armed forces in March 2022.
