Lithuanian drone maker UDS launches Ukrainian joint venture

In brief

UDS Ukraine plans to support drone deployment and train operators, working with Ukrainian defence forces and technology companies.

Lithuanian Unmanned Defense Systems has announced the start of operations in Ukraine through a new joint venture, UDS Ukraine. RBC-Ukraine reported the announcement on October 7, citing a company press release.

The venture will support product deployment, train operators and work with military units. UDS says it aims to shorten the time between military requests and implementation, while using feedback from Ukrainian users to develop its systems further.

The company's products include the FORECASTER reconnaissance drone, AVENGER 5 attack drone, multipurpose HAULER and SWARM C2 software platform. UDS says their open architecture allows integration with other platforms and battle management systems.

UDS Ukraine chief executive and co-owner Stepan Veselovskyi described the venture as a Ukrainian company. UDS co-founder and chief executive Vytenis Buzas said the goal was a long-term presence beyond supplying products. RBC-Ukraine's report did not specify the investment, the venture's operating location or the number of systems delivered.
