In brief
The General Staff reported 2,597 drones deployed by Russia and put the effectiveness of Ukraine’s response at more than 87%.
Ukraine’s defence forces neutralised 2,282 of 2,597 Russian drones deployed over a week, the General Staff said on the evening of October 23, according to Novynarnia. The military put the effectiveness of its response at more than 87%.
The report listed Shahed-131/136/238, Parodiya and Gerbera drones. It did not specify totals for each type or the exact start and end dates of the reporting week.
Aircraft, surface-to-air missile units, mobile fire groups, electronic warfare systems and drone operators took part in countering the attacks, the General Staff said. The neutralised total therefore should not be read solely as drones shot down. The report did not break down the methods used or specify how many drones hit targets.
Russia is changing flight routes and altitudes, combining attack drones with decoys and trying to overwhelm air defences with simultaneous threats, the military said. It warned that effective air defence does not eliminate the danger and urged people to heed air-raid alerts and avoid sharing information about air-defence operations.
