Serpukhov arsenal strike could strain Russian air defences, analyst says

In brief

Reserve Ukrainian Air Force officer Anatolii Khrapchynskyi said strikes across several regions complicate Russia’s efforts to protect key sites.

A strike on Russia’s 75th Arsenal in Serpukhov could add to difficulties protecting important sites, reserve Ukrainian Air Force officer Anatolii Khrapchynskyi said on Radio NV, according to an October 22 report by UNIAN.

UNIAN reported that Ukrainian defence forces struck the facility in the Moscow region with long-range weapons overnight into October 22. The arsenal repairs and stores air-defence systems, including Buk and S-300V systems.

Khrapchynskyi argued that Ukrainian attacks across different regions strain Russian air defences and disrupt coordination between units. He linked those pressures partly to the redeployment of systems to occupied Ukrainian territory and their concentration in the Moscow and Leningrad regions.

His assessment describes possible consequences for Russia’s defences. UNIAN’s report did not specify the extent of damage to the arsenal or the number of systems destroyed.
