Ukrainian paper mill halts production after Russian missile attack

In brief

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill in Obukhiv reported extensive damage but said none of its employees were hurt.

The Kyiv Cardboard and Paper Mill in Obukhiv, Kyiv region, halted production after a Russian missile attack on October 7, RBC-Ukraine reported, citing the company's press office.

The company said production and storage buildings sustained serious damage, along with equipment and engineering infrastructure. Explosions sparked fires that emergency crews were still extinguishing at the time of the statement.

The mill said none of its employees were hurt, attributing this to their adherence to safety instructions. It described the strike as the third attack on the facility in six months.

The plant produces cardboard, corrugated packaging and hygiene products and belongs to Austria's Pulp Mill Holding, according to RBC-Ukraine. The report did not specify a monetary damage estimate or when production could resume.
