Ukrainian director Zhanna Ozirna has announced a teaser for Intimate Scene, a planned film about the sexual lives of veterans with different types of injuries, Novynarnia reported. The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation supported the teaser’s development and filming.
Ozirna describes the story as following a young couple working on a practical guide to veterans’ sexual lives. The film will explore changes in relationships, intimacy and perceptions of one’s body after traumatic experiences, drawing on real stories and research in dialogue with the veteran community.
Novynarnia, citing Suspilne Culture, said the team plans to involve veterans with amputations and their partners rather than professional actors. The screenplay is expected to be ready by the end of October, after which the team plans to seek co-production partners. Novynarnia did not specify a premiere date.
