In brief
A film presented by Vinnytsia regional police recounts specialists' work and one family's wait to learn the fate of their son.
Police in Ukraine's Vinnytsia region have presented a documentary about repatriating and identifying people killed in the war, UNIAN reported on 5 October. The film, whose title translates as “Nameless: The Fight for a Name,” is available on YouTube, according to the news agency.
Investigators, forensic specialists and medical examiners describe their work at a specialised police centre. The documentary also follows the parents of a fallen serviceman whose identity was established, recounting their wait for confirmation of his death and the chance to say goodbye.
Oleksandr Fedorchuk, deputy head of the regional police investigation department and one of the film's initiators, said identification requires work by many specialists to give families a reliable answer about their loved ones.
A preview screening took place on 24 September at Vinnytsia's Rodyna cinema. UNIAN did not specify when the film was uploaded to YouTube.
