Poland is considering scenarios for a possible new influx of Ukrainians this winter, its chargé d'affaires in Ukraine, Piotr Łukasiewicz, told RBC-Ukraine in an interview published on October 5.
Łukasiewicz said Poland was already preparing and assessing what the coming months might bring. He suggested the winter could resemble the one two years ago more than last winter, while describing his expectation of unexpected developments as a personal feeling.
RBC-Ukraine's report did not specify projected arrival numbers, reception capacity, new centres or an approved set of measures. The diplomat's remarks concern a possible future influx and do not establish that a new wave of departures has begun.
He also said Poland's position on supporting Ukraine remained unchanged despite exhaustion associated with the prolonged war.
