In brief
Rikard Jozwiak reported approval of listings targeting Russia’s military industry and representatives from occupied Ukrainian territories; final adoption was not confirmed in the report.
EU ambassadors approved new sanctions lists against Russia on October 7, Radio Free Europe’s Europe editor Rikard Jozwiak reported, according to RBC-Ukraine. He said they covered 743 people and 826 organisations in Russia’s military industry.
Jozwiak also named 77 people described as elected to Russia’s State Duma from occupied Ukrainian territories. He said ambassadors agreed to renew sanctions concerning Russia’s use of chemical weapons on the battlefield, with 31 people and six organisations listed. RBC-Ukraine did not specify whether these categories overlap.
A day earlier, RBC-Ukraine, citing Reuters and EU diplomats, reported a proposal for about 1,650 new sanctions listings, mostly linked to Russia’s military industry. That report said the lists would go to EU foreign ministers on October 12 for final approval after ambassadors endorsed them. The October 7 report did not confirm final ministerial adoption or entry into force.
