Slovakia plans Moscow talks on Russian gas and oil supplies

In brief

An intergovernmental commission is scheduled to meet on October 26 for the first time since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Slovakia's foreign ministry said.

Slovakia and Russia plan to hold an intergovernmental commission meeting in Moscow on October 26 to discuss energy supplies, Novynarnia reported, citing Reuters and Slovakia's foreign ministry.

The agenda includes possible gas supplies, continued oil deliveries and nuclear energy, alongside agriculture, the environment, sport and culture. The ministry said this would be the commission's first meeting since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Slovakia's foreign ministry said the country would continue to follow its obligations as an EU and NATO member while seeking to preserve dialogue with Russia.

The talks are planned; Novynarnia's report did not specify any new contracts, supply volumes or revised delivery terms.
