In brief

Two sanctions lists target weapons production networks, including companies in the RUSAL group, Ukraine’s presidential office said.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed decrees implementing National Security and Defence Council sanctions against Russian weapons producers and suppliers, Novynarnia reported, citing an October 24 announcement by his office.

The first list covers 51 individuals and 44 legal entities. The presidential office linked them to production and supplies of raw materials, equipment and tools for weapons including Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kinzhal missiles.

The other list covers 32 Russian citizens and 35 Russian companies linked to industrial equipment, electronics and raw materials supplied to the defence sector. The office also named RUSAL group companies it said were involved in producing military aircraft, armoured vehicles, missiles and drones.

Presidential sanctions adviser Vladyslav Vlasiuk said Ukraine was working to extend the restrictions to other jurisdictions. He described weakening Russia’s weapons production as their intended effect; Novynarnia’s report did not specify any results from their implementation.
