In brief
The Defence Ministry’s list is led by the K-2 unmanned systems brigade. LIGA.net’s report gives no return figures or counting period.
Ukraine’s Defence Ministry has named five brigades receiving the most service members returning after leaving their units without permission through a simplified procedure, LIGA.net reported on October 8, citing the ministry’s Facebook post.
The list starts with the 20th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, known as K-2, followed by the 53rd Separate Mechanised Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. Next are the Third Separate Assault Brigade, the 63rd Separate Mechanised Brigade and the 429th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, known as Achilles. The ministry separately highlighted the National Guard’s Khartiia and Azov brigades.
LIGA.net’s report did not specify how many troops returned to each brigade or the period covered by the list. It therefore provides no basis for calculating the total number returning to service.
