In brief

Officials reported at least 14 wounded in Nova Vodolaha, including seven children, with a subsequent regional update putting the toll at 15.

A Russian drone struck the central park in Nova Vodolaha in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region on October 19, killing two women and an infant in a stroller, Ukrainian official Ivan Vyhivskyi said, according to RBC-Ukraine and LIGA.net.

Vyhivskyi said families with children were among the many people in the park when the drone hit. He reported at least 14 wounded, including seven children. LIGA.net also cited regional governor Oleh Syniehubov as saying the number of people hurt had risen to 15; that update did not give a separate count of wounded children.

Kharkiv regional prosecutors said the strike occurred around 16:30 and involved a Geran-3 drone, LIGA.net reported. A café building was damaged.

Emergency crews were providing first aid and checking the area for explosive hazards. LIGA.net reported that intensive care teams were taking wounded people to hospitals in Kharkiv.
